The Royal Kennebeccasis Yacht Club is pleased to announce the Inaugural Maiden Factor Open Race, Monday, August 8th, 6-9pm.
Following this, a reception will take place in the club house where you can mingle with the Maiden crew and hear their story firsthand. For on shore spectators, we will be showing the 2018 documentary, Maiden, at 6:00pm – chronicling Dame Tracy Edwards’ journey to skipper the first all-female Whitbread Round-the-World race boat. Racing can be viewed from the clubhouse, and the Maiden crew will arrive at approximately 7:30, post-race.
Fee to attend the reception is $20. The race is open to boats from all clubs – registration is online at RKYC.ca. Tickets for racing and/or reception are $20/person. For a chance to have one of the Maiden crew join your boat during the race, plus race and reception, tickets are $30 each. Spectator boats are welcome. Moorings and/or dock space may be available upon request.
Funds raised are, at the Maiden crew’s request, staying locally, supporting NB sailing athletes heading to the Canada Games. Antoinette Demers (FYC Commodore)
